Cobbles or tarmac?

Paterberg and Koppenberg are cobbled Flanders climbs. Mur de Huy is a paved road in Wallonia, while Muro di Sormano is in Lombardy. A similar distance does not imply the same surface or riding experience.

Read beyond the average

Average grade describes the whole selected segment. Shorter ramps can be much steeper, and the table does not provide a maximum-gradient comparison. Open each profile to see where the hardest part falls; include the roads to and from the climb when planning a ride.

Average gradient describes the recorded route as a whole. Open a climb to see its elevation profile and how the gradient changes along the road.
